Destructive and Non-Destructive editing

Destructive Car
The main difference between the destructive and non destructive car is that the destructive car didn’t use a layer mask, this meant that I edited directly onto the image, destroying pixels in the process.

However, the non destructive car used a layer mask, this meant that the original image wouldn’t be damaged and could be reverted back to if something went wrong.

While many professional editors would tell you that using the non destructive route was the best, and it is, there is virtually no difference in terms of the outcome appearance.

For both of these images we turned the layer to overlay which sadly resulted in the colours being turned brighter, this also caused the colour black to be impossible to use.
